Voila Photography was created in 2004, exactly one year after moving from France to California. Since that time, I have gotten to know what seems like a very large portion of the community here in the Valley. I am blessed to have met these wonderful people who have trusted me to photograph part of their life with their babies, children, family and horses.
My work is entirely digital and has been that way for several years now. I cannot imagine going back to film, I'm having too much fun with digital. It allows me to experiment and to push myself to see just how creative I can be. Plus I love being able to see the results right away. Photoshop, a digital program, enables me to make changes and that is also an interesting part of my tasks as a photographer. A blemish, a heavy expression line, hair out of place can be corrected to create an ideal picture. I like to play Merlin and change the World!
I love to photograph outside and at places where children, families and seniors are most comfortable. That is when they really open up and let me see who they are. That is why I am here, to preserve who you and your loved ones are at this moment in your life.
Because I believe good ethic in my profession is important I am a member of Professional Photographer of America. It is also a good source of education to stay focused in improving my skills and stay grounded with the community.
As a French citizen, I have enjoyed my freedom while living in my native country, thankfull to the US Army and Allies. When I discovered the initiative of fellow US photographers to say Thank You to military families through Op Love Reunited, I signed up immediately. I remember my mom's stories, she was 16 at that time, when the US Amy liberated Paris in 1944. What a joy and excitment for a young teenager living in an occupied Paris. I am very proud to be part of Op Love Reunited and had the opportunity to meet wonderful, generous and strong families.
I am also active in my community providing my services to help promote the efforts of groups involved in the well being and developpment of our neighbourhoods. I am a Board member of Sylmar Chamber of Commerce.
